1078 Hamilton Street

This was a site specific installation made for a warehouse exhibition called The October Show in 1983. It was a column of wooden timbers that was connected on all three floors of the building with a shaft that penetrated through the floors. It was mounted on bearings so that it would rotate on all three floors when pushed. It would cause a questioning of the structure and architecture of the building when it would suddenly start to move by itself. It would set up a social dynamic between floors of the unknown human interaction.
