Art Train

A collaboration with Bill Burns. A small steel roller coaster train designed to circumnavigate the pillars of a Optica Gallery in Montreal. A wind-up crank with an extra long handle would make the participant do extra large hand and arm gestures to pull the little train to the top of the gravity hill. The train carried the four fundamental forms as cargo in its travels across and around the gallery. The ball, the cone, the sphere and the cylinder occupy an historically unalterable position within the theory and mythological structure of western art practice. These four fundamental objects of “learning to draw” were made of steel and chocolate.
