Flying PIano

Running on five cables 12’ above the floor, the modified piano traversed back and forth from wall to wall across the space in approximately three minute cycles. Rotating as it travelled, the combined motions gave it a rolling crescendo effect as it approached the walls. A double solenoid mechanism on the back of the action played two notes a tension filled “broken fifth” random scale up and down the keyboard as it flew. There would be one minute of rest for every three minutes of playing.
